Location: Remote CT. MUST RESIDE in CT or New England area. Travel Required.

Salary: $85,000 – 90,000 + Bonus

Overview

Our client is a New England based company with majority of sales happening in the Boston area. Established 50 years ago, our client is privately owned and is a distributor within the manufacturing space. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building long-term client relationships, and providing expert technical guidance to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and sales, and experience selling to industries such as power, instrumentation, life sciences, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with B2B clients in the pipe supply industry.
  • Manage sales cycles, including lead generation, negotiation, and closing of deals.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand sales into new territories and sectors, particularly in the power, instrumentation, life sciences, and industrial industries.
  • Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to ensure client needs are met.
  • Develop customized proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Deliver product training and demonstrations as needed.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPI metrics.
  • Travel is required for this position (CT and RI region).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the pipe supply industry or similar fields.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and grow relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing new sales territories and expanding client bases.
  • A proven track record of success in technical sales, with the ability to share specific examples of past achievements.
  • Experience working within or selling to power, instrumentation, life sciences, or industrial sectors is a major advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with technical products and an understanding of the technical needs of customers in the relevant industries.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
