Valley Truck Centers / Great Lakes Truck Centers is Ohio's premier source for new and pre-owned heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks. Valley has an opening for a Used Truck Sales Manager. Great Lakes Truck Centers/ Valley Truck Centers is currently looking for a General Sales Manager to lead our Sales Department! The General Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining a well-balanced Sales and Finance Department. The successful candidate will set objectives for the departments and accomplish them through planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the performance of the Sales Managers, Sales Consultants, and F&I Managers. Job Responsibilities - Recruit, train, manage, and direct Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and F&I staff - Work with General Manager in setting realistic monthly goals for the sales team - Maintain or beat market share and budgeted profit levels - Maintain floor plan expenses at or below budget - Explain the policies and procedures of the dealership to sales employees, follow up with employees to verify their understanding and compliance - Promote an enthusiastic attitude to build positive employee attitudes and morale - Monitor the performance of sales employees and provide constructive feedback to aid in the sales success of each team member - Set an example of professionalism through daily actions and appearance - Work with managers to create cost-effective advertising programs and merchandizing strategies for the dealership - Maintain inventory of new and used vehicles that match local market needs - Analyze P&L to implement growth strategies that align with dealership objectives - Oversee monthly financial statements to ensure they are complete, accurate, and submitted on time to upper management/dealership owners - Attend management meetings as requested - Establish recommended unit sales and dollar gross profit objectives for the Daily Operating Control - Collaborate with Dealership Principal, Owner, and Managers to implement dealership sales processes - Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales Job Requirements Ideal candidates must possess a strong management background and excellent customer service skills. - Must have at least 3-5 years of successful experience in automotive sales management - Dealership Management experience is required - Previous experience in communicating with dealership principles, owners, and managers - A proven track record in the automotive market reflecting high CSI is a must - Strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to understand profit and loss statements are requirements for success - Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software and internet proficiency - Excellent verbal/written communication, strong negotiation, and presentation skills - Professional appearance - All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA and must be able to pass pre-employment requirements including a drug test and background screen - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - High School diploma or equivalent Experience in management and commercial trucks REQUIRED.
