Job Summary

As a Sales Specialist at American Health Plans, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the purchase journey of our customers. You will be the face of our products, presenting them to customers over the phone with enthusiasm and expertise. Your primary focus will be to foster and nurture relationships with all clients, ensuring their needs are not just met, but exceeded. This position offers the stability of a fixed base pay, complemented by the limitless potential of commission pay, truly rewarding your hard work and dedication.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Empower customers by educating them on policies that align with their needs.

  • Cultivate robust relationships with customers through networking and proactive engagement with referrals.

  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring their satisfaction.

  • Drive business growth by designing and implementing potent marketing strategies and innovative networking techniques.

  • Uphold the highest standards of the industry and our company, adhering to all regulations.

  • Pursue personal development by continuously updating your job-specific knowledge.

  • Maintain accurate customer records by following established reporting and recording procedures.

  • Contribute to team synergy by actively participating in team and individual meetings.

  • Undertake additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.

Primary Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a High School degree, though some college or a college degree is preferred.

  • At least 1 year of experience in Sales, showcasing your ability to close deals.

  • Active Health Insurance Licenses are preferred. If not currently licensed, there is an expectation to obtain a license within the first 30 days of employment, with expenses covered by the company.

  • Previous experience in the Health Insurance industry is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to interact professionally.

  • Strong customer service skills, putting customer satisfaction at the forefront.

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Organizational skills that allow for efficient task prioritization.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products and Windows-based applications.

  • A proven track record of dependability and self-motivation.

  • Curiosity and the ability to ask probing questions to gather necessary information.

  • Willingness to work Overtime, including extended office hours during the week and on weekends, particularly during peak / open enrollment from November to mid-January each year.
