Sanctuary Care Manager - Pridestaff : Job Details

CALLING ALL ANIMAL LOVERS! Direct Hire Opportunity! PrideStaff is working with a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the safety, welfare and well-being of animals to find a residential, on-site, Animal Sanctuary Manager. Our client, established over 100 years ago is seeking candidates experienced in the day to day care of a variety of animals. Our chosen Animal Sanctuary Manager must be able to live on site, and care for the animals and property while reporting to the Chief Veterinary Officer and Animal Ethicist. This role will manage vendor relationships such as outside contractors as needed for approved property maintenance, repairs and/or improvements. We are seeking candidates who are experienced and dedicated to the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals in our care. Some of the duties and responsibilities of our chosen Animal Sanctuary Manager will include:

• Feeding, grooming, administration of veterinary medications and treatments, providing enrichment, etc. for a variety of animals including horses, dogs, birds and other species yet to be determined.
• Leads vendor management and property maintenance needs to ensure the Sanctuary is fully functional and well maintained.
• As Sanctuary programming grows and develops, the Sanctuary Care Manager will collaboratively work to develop volunteer opportunities and supervise the work of volunteers assisting in animals care work at the Sanctuary.

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on feet for long periods
• Knowledge of local animal welfare laws and nonprofit management
• Passion for humane treatment of animals and mission-driven work
