Sanitation Crew Leader I - TRANSFORCE : Job Details

Job Summary The City of Greenville's Public Works Department is looking for a Sanitation Crew Leader I. The purpose of this position is to serve as a lead employee of the sanitation crew and to provide safe and efficient operation of assigned heavy equipment used in the collection of solid waste. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Examples of Duties

• Operates a mechanical side-loading packer truck to collect solid waste on a designated route, including streets and alleys;
• Operates a rear-loading packer truck to collect uncontained refuse in a designated area;
• Operates other assigned equipment as needed;
• Detects, identifies, and reports improper equipment performance and makes necessary operational adjustments;
• Leads and assists collection crews;
• Cleans equipment after task completion;
• Assists the supervisor in regard to heavy equipment operations; and
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience operating various light to heavy-duty vehicles and equipment (prior supervisory/crew leader experience preferred).

• The ability to read and write sufficiently to complete required tasks and at least five years of experience operating various light to heavy-duty vehicles and equipment (prior supervisory/crew leader experience preferred).
