Job DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
  • Oversee the day-to-day sanitation operations; meeting all established levels of plant cleanliness and sanitation to ensure the production of safe, quality food.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:• Supervise and manage effectiveness of sanitation shift personnel, maintaining established levels of cleanliness and sanitation for plant equipment and facilities, i.e., GMP, Safety, and other plant policies.• Responsible for safety and the promotion of safe work practices; resolves/follows up on safety issues and be part of safety audits. • Responsible for all trainings for the sanitation team.• Evaluate, plan and implement operational programs dealing with plant sanitation.• Maintain and manage inventory of sanitation supplies, sanitation budget compliance, and labor tracking.• Demonstrate results of sanitation programs, document cleaning schedules and procedures.• Support management staff during plant sanitation audits.• Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position. • Support Corporate Sanitation with all new initiatives and program enhancements.• Follow all food safety requirements and GMP's as applicable for this position.• Ensure the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.• Execute all tasks related to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and maintain 100% compliance.• Execute all tasks related to the CAPA program to include documentation of corrective actions.• Ensure that all logs and all documentation are completed accurately and on time.• Meet or exceed company goals as related to daily Visual and ATP swabbing.Required SkillsJOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
  • 3+ years of sanitation, quality, or production leadership experience in food processing..
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices, (GMPs), and Clean-in-Place (CIP) practices.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation processes, procedures, and equipment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Well versed and proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to learn and work in other data bases and programs.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving skills through root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work with management and hourly employees.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Access or MP2 (preventive maintenance).
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible.
  • Fluent Bilingual Spanish/English language skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, work in a cold environment, and lift 40 pounds. Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible be able to work night shift, and be flexible enough to come in during the day if needed.
  • Standard work schedule: Sun-Tues, Thur-Sat. 11:00pm-7:00am
  • Ability to travel for training and assistance with sister plants as needed.
  • Travel less than 10%
Required ExperienceEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • B.S. in Food Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
PAY RATE:
  • $80,0000 - $90,0000 Annually
