Collects and disposes refuse Examples of Duties Examples of Work:UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION - Accompanies the refuse truck to the disposal/recycling/recovery facility. Guides the driver in backing the truck. Rides on packer steps utilizing three points of contact while moving up to 10 miles per hour. Steps up and down off packer step constantly to approach trash container/recycling bin/yard waste. Visually inspects container for any unusual items on the surface. Tests lift container to ensure weight requirements (potentially off curb)Tilts and pushes container (Up to 90 gallons/450 lbs) and transfers to the packer flippers at the rear of the truck and then opens lid. Lifts excess bags/boxes/bundles/recycling bins on the ground from the curb to the packer truck. Uses flipper hydraulic controls to dump trash container up into hopper and back down and closes lid.
