Role : SAP MM Supply Chain Procurement Expert/Architect:
Location : Remote 10-15 % Travel to CA
Roles and Responsibilities
## Core Responsibilities
1. **System Design and Architecture**
- Design and implement SAP Procurement and Logistic fulfilment functionalities
- Develop system architecture aligned with business processes
- Ensure integration with other SAP Project Systems
2. **Sub-Contracting and Sourcing Expertise**
- Configure and optimize sub-contracting processes
- Implement sourcing strategies within SAP
- Integrate sub-contracting with overall project management
3. **Process Optimization**
- Analyze and improve end-to-end procurement processes
- Streamline sub-contracting workflows
- Enhance efficiency in project-related sourcing activities
4. **Configuration and Customization**
- Set up and configure SAP MM module
- Customize SAP functionalities to meet specific business requirements
- Implement best practices in project systems and procurement
5. **Integration Management**
- Ensure seamless integration between material documents and other modules
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Production, etc.)
- Manage interfaces with external systems if required
## Specific Areas of Expertise
### Purchase Requisition
- Configure and optimize the creation and processing of purchase requisitions
- Implement approval workflows and controls
- Integrate requisitions with project structures and WBS elements
### Purchase Order
- Design and implement purchase order processes
- Configure PO types, fields, and controls specific to project-related procurement
- Ensure proper linkage between POs, projects, and sub-contracting processes
### Goods Receipt/Goods Issue (GR/GI)
- Set up GR/GI processes for project materials and services
- Implement proper valuation and accounting for project-related goods movements
- Configure special GR/GI scenarios for sub-contracted items
### Serialization
- Implement serialization for project-specific materials
- Configure tracking of serialized components through sub-contracting processes
- Ensure proper handling of serialized items in GR/GI transactions
### Sub-Contracting Specific Tasks
- Configure sub-contracting scenarios in SAP
- Implement processes for providing materials to sub-contractors
- Set up proper costing and valuation for sub-contracted work
## Additional Responsibilities
1. **Training and Support**
- Provide training to end-users on SAP PS and related procurement functions
- Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting
2. **Documentation**
- Maintain comprehensive system and process documentation
- Create user guides and standard operating procedures
3. **Continuous Improvement**
- Stay updated with SAP enhancements and new features
- Propose and implement system improvements
- Conduct regular process reviews and optimizations
4. **Project Management**
- Participate in or lead SAP implementation/upgrade projects
- Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for MM/PS-related initiatives
5. **Stakeholder Management**
- Liaise with business users to understand requirements
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide regular updates and reports to management
