The role involves converting SAS programs to other mainframe systems, including COBOL, SORT, REXX, and IZPCA. Candidates must have experience working in z/OS environments and be proficient in mainframe tools, as well as adept at validating and testing converted code to ensure accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Analyze SAS Logic and assess and interpret existing SAS code and processes for conversion. Mainframe programming to develop code in COBOL, SORT, REXX, and other z/OS tools to replace SAS logic. Utilize mainframe data structures and z/OS utilities for conversion and replication of SAS functionalities. Testing and validation to ensure that converted programs and jobs produce the same outputs as the original SAS versions. Skills SAS Expertise: Strong understanding of SAS programming, data manipulation, and logic. Mainframe Knowledge: In-depth experience with z/OS, COBOL, SORT, REXX, and z/OS utilities. Subsystem Familiarity: Proficiency with z/OS subsystems, data structures, and other related tools. Analytical Skills: Ability to accurately translate complex SAS processes into equivalent mainframe code. Testing and Quality Assurance: Skilled in testing and validation processes to ensure the converted outputs match original SAS outputs.
