We are excited to announce a new partnership with a prestigious financial institution seeking a highly experienced SBA/USDA Portfolio Manager. As a subject matter expert in SBA/USDA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the bank's SBA/USDA portfolio with a focus on operational efficiency, compliance, and portfolio growth. This is a key position within the bank, offering an opportunity to drive impactful decisions in the administration and servicing of SBA and USDA loans.Job SummaryAs the SBA/USDA Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily administration of the bank's GGL (Guaranteed Government Loans) portfolio. This includes overseeing underwriting, servicing, collections, and liquidation of SBA and USDA-guaranteed loans. You will ensure all activities align with bank policies and adhere to federal and state regulations, while delivering timely, competitive loan solutions tailored to meet the needs of borrowers.Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Underwriting & Administration: Oversee the underwriting of new SBA-guaranteed term loans, ensuring compliance with bank standards and government regulations.
  • Portfolio Management: Effectively manage the ongoing administration of the GGL portfolio, including annual loan reviews, portfolio renewals, and collections management.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Monitor and maintain compliance with SBA SOP 50-57, SBA 50 10, USDA regulations, and all applicable state and federal laws.
  • SBA & USDA Guaranty Process: Manage the SBA and USDA guaranty liquidation process, ensuring the bank's interest is safeguarded throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Loan Workouts & Liquidations: Lead loan workouts, including collateral liquidation and other recovery actions, to mitigate risk and maximize asset recovery.
  • Team Leadership & Training: Mentor and train team members, sharing expertise in SBA and USDA policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Compile and distribute detailed loan management reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual), offering insights into portfolio performance and risk.
  • Servicing & Customer Support: Assist borrowers with loan servicing actions, ensuring all requirements are met while adhering to bank, SBA, and USDA policies.

Essential Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in SBA and USDA servicing, liquidation, and special assets management.
  • Strong expertise in SBA and USDA loan programs, with deep knowledge of SBA SOP 50-57, SBA 50 10, and USDA Regulations.
  • Proven track record in SBA underwriting and portfolio administration, with a focus on loan servicing and collections.
  • In-depth understanding of loan covenant compliance, risk ratings, and the ability to assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
  • Experience in managing complex SBA & USDA portfolios with an ability to identify and mitigate risk while ensuring compliance and maximizing loan performance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train staff effectively.
