Scale Clerk - The Gerken Companies : Job Details

* This position will be utilized on an as needed basis to cover for full-time scale clerks*

Job Summary:

The Scale Clerk will be responsible for weighing trucks in and out, daily recordkeeping of plant production, inventory and customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Greeting customers and following MSHA guidelines for entry onto site

* Weighing trucks, adding customers, ordering products, and entering carriers and yearly pricing into computer system

* Accepting payments of various kinds including cash, checks and credit cards.

* Prepare and make bank deposits and ensure there is change available for cash sales

* Ordering parts, fuel, lubricants, safety and welding supplies to be used onsite

* Maintaining MSHA records including training, commencement reports, hearing conservation, and firefighting plan compliance

* Keeping other records as necessary

* Maintaining cleanliness of scale house

* Answering phones, explaining products and uses and providing pricing information

* Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Excellent communication and customer service skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, employees, and other guests to the property

* Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

* General knowledge of various office equipment including a multi-line phone, computer, fax machine, printer/scanner, etc.
