**Scale Up & Fermentation Co-Op**

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

+ You will experiment independently to understand how process variations affect fermentation outcomes, this can mean that you will review literature, design hypotheses, develop experiments, analyze results, and report conclusions;

+ This role requires setup, use, maintenance and modification of lab equipment so as to assess parameters of interests;

+ Research results shall be analyzed, reports drafted, and results need to be effectively communicated to internal partners;

+ Support with routine lab operation is required to ensure a safe lab operation.

**WHO YOU ARE**

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

+ Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor, masters, or doctoral degree in bioengineering, chemical engineering or a related field;

+ Prior hands-on experience on biotechnological lab equipment and with microbial cultures is required;

+ Understanding of mass and energy balances in a unit operation is required;

+ Proven track record of work within chemical and/or biotech labs;

+ Good organization and planning skills;

+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team;

+ You should be highly motivated;

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Ideally, familiar with bioreactors and cultivation protocols.
