A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOME CARE SCHEDULE COORDINATOR:The schedule coordinator is responsible for scheduling home care visits using the organization's scheduling software and managing other related scheduling tasks. Additionally, the home care scheduler provides essential administrative support to the clinical managers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures new orders are generated throughout the day for all disciplines. Generates orders at the end of the day in preparation for the following day's schedule.
- Ensures all visits are properly labeled to identify type of visit needed, including prn visits
- Understands visit frequencies and certification periods in order to problem solve and schedule appropriately.
- Reviews and assigns all open visits to direct care staff.
- Utilizes the scheduling system's functionality to assign direct care staff as case manager.
- Generates patient schedules at specified timeframes to determine all future open visits that have not been assigned to direct care staff. Assigns open visits to appropriate staff.
- Collaborates with clinical managers to resolve any unassigned and or open visits, or any other scheduling related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of hands-on home care experience preferred.
- Must have demonstrated computer skills.
- Valid state driver's license, car insurance and registration required. Ability to successfully pass pre-employment driver record, criminal, adult and child abuse background check/review required.
