Job Description:Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Directs in-plant distribution of work schedules. 2. Planning and scheduling workflow according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times. 3. Planning sequence of assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. 4. Adjusts schedules to meet emergencies caused by extended lead times, increased production demands, or expedite requests. 5. Help develop new planning/scheduling tools and their derived reports. 6. Set manufacturing priorities and work with manufacturing to assure that priorities are run in a timely fashion. 7. Source, negotiate, and select vendors that meet the company's quality, price, and delivery requirements 8. Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers 9. Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery 10. Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders 11. Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained 12. Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders 13. Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors 14. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data 15. Prepare reports on purchase activity and supplier performance 16. Other duties as assigned
QualificationsSuccessful candidate should have a degree in manufacturing, or a closely related field, with a strong work history in the manufacturing industry. Good communication skills are necessary for adequate task completion. A.P.I.C.S. certification is desirable. Experience with scheduling, scheduling tools and purchasing is required.• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field strongly preferred• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, and/or scheduling preferred• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills• Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)• Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment• Strong organizational and time management skills• Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team
