  • Days: Tuesday to Saturday days (Some flexibility)
JOB SUMMARY: The Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling of regular and overtime shifts for full -time, part-time and per diem field employees in accordance with AMR Policy and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) making every effort to meet the daily field personnel needs set forth by each Business Unit. The position also monitorsand edits timekeeping records for all non-exempt employees, processes hours worked, and, where necessary, provides Payroll with required reports and hours worked in a timely and accurate manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implements all aspects of daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for the Operations division.
  • Identifies solutions that balance the needs of the employee with the demands of the operation while using established methods of communication to ensure Managers and Supervisors alike are briefed as to the ongoing changes.
  • Create shifts and assignments where needed, and modify daily schedule as needed, which includes notifying and communicating with employees regarding shift assignments, trade approvals and PTO requests.
  • Ensures satisfactory reconciliation and synchronization of scheduling information in the timekeeping system.
  • Review and verification of employee hours for accuracy and timeliness in support of proper payroll practices. Assist in recording and maintaining employee attendance records/files and payroll functions.
  • Oversight and coordinate deployment plans based on anticipated needs given by Senior Leadership.
  • Prepare and compile periodic reports and documents for review and analysis. These may include but not limited to weekly personnel payroll statistics and absence reports, overtime tracking and other related reports.
  • Ensure all locations comply as it relates to time management and operating procedures, collective bargaining agreements, union contracts, etc.
  • Maintain accurate schedules using fair and equitable practices in approving PTO, shift trades/giveaways/schedule adjustments, float assignments, etc.
  • May be required to act in certification to cover schedule openings
  • Scheduling staff for public relations and marketing standbys, special events and various other projects as directed by Management.
  • Promptly and courteously respond to inquiries from field and leadership personnel.
  • Timely notifications to management of current or future staffing concerns.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adherence to and compliance with information technology IT systems- security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to know and follow IT security policies and procedures. Attend IT security training, when offered. Report IT security problems and concerns when needed.
  • Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.
  • Travel to different business unit locations on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience:
  • Prior experience in personnel scheduling software a must
  • Working knowledge and experience in staffing/scheduling programs such as Kronos/Telestaff/UKG is preferred
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • New York State Certified EMT or Paramedic
Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Products, inclusive of Word, Excel, Teams, One Drive
  • Ability to rationalize while working under time restraints
  • Ability to perform mathematical and statistical calculations
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-Starter / Proactive thinker with good conflict resolution skills
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions and conclusions for problem solving
Credentials/Licenses:
  • EMT Basic preferred
