School Based Occupational Therapist (OT) - Tandym Group : Job Details

A school in Westchester County is actively seeking a compassionate and driven Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their staff. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will conduct evaluations and periodic re-evaluation in order to determine development levels in the areas of perceptual motor, A.D.L., prevocational, musculoskeletal, sensory, and sensorimotor functioning.About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Start date: ASAP
• Length of Assignment: Through the end of the 2023-24 school year
• Patient Population: Students ages 5-22 years old with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities

Responsibilities:

• Determine treatment priorities
• Recommend appropriate case loads
• Provide therapy service on an individual and/or small group basis according to need as indicated on the students Individual Education Program (IEP)
• Maintain appropriate student records including attendance, IEP information, initiation, and discharge summaries
• Conduct re-evaluation on each student receiving therapy at least every three years, or as recommended by the team and or child's school district
• Supervise classroom therapeutic programs to be implemented by classroom staff and parents
• Consult with school personnel regarding program recommendations and special equipment consideration
• Maintain and utilize evaluation and therapeutic materials necessary to conduct the OT Program

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license
• Experience with pediatric patients
• Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency with computer platforms and applications
• Demonstrates initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills
