A school in Westchester County is actively seeking a compassionate and driven Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their staff. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will conduct evaluations and periodic re-evaluation in order to determine development levels in the areas of perceptual motor, A.D.L., prevocational, musculoskeletal, sensory, and sensorimotor functioning.About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Start date: ASAP
- Length of Assignment: Through the end of the 2023-24 school year
- Patient Population: Students ages 5-22 years old with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Determine treatment priorities
- Recommend appropriate case loads
- Provide therapy service on an individual and/or small group basis according to need as indicated on the students Individual Education Program (IEP)
- Maintain appropriate student records including attendance, IEP information, initiation, and discharge summaries
- Conduct re-evaluation on each student receiving therapy at least every three years, or as recommended by the team and or child's school district
- Supervise classroom therapeutic programs to be implemented by classroom staff and parents
- Consult with school personnel regarding program recommendations and special equipment consideration
- Maintain and utilize evaluation and therapeutic materials necessary to conduct the OT Program
Qualifications:
- Active New York State Occupational Therapist license
- Experience with pediatric patients
- Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with computer platforms and applications
- Demonstrates initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills
