Job Description :
This employee is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive psychological services.Duties of this position include but are not limited to:CORE COMPATENCIES
  • Planning and Development
  • Participation in the development of the comprehensive plan at the school and district level.
  • Participation in the development of short- and long-term goals for the school psychological services program.
  • Chairing Sub-Committee CSE Meetings
  • Chairing Instructional Support Team Meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree or above
  • State Certification is School Psychology
GENERAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations that include but ae not limited to the assessment of intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional and behavioral status.
  • Assessment and data collection by use of formal, informal or non-standardized evaluation techniques including functional behavioral assessments and behavior interventions plans.
  • Interpreting and utilizing assessment data for the purpose of writing psychological reports and developing written intervention plans.
  • Counseling students individually and in groups and providing crisis intervention.
  • Utilizing the Instructional Support Team as a resource for students.
  • Service to Parents:
  • Providing training on a wide variety of topics including but not limited to child development and effective parenting.
  • Assisting parents in locating available educational information and interventions.
  • Service to Teachers:
  • Consulting with teachers and administrators regarding specific students.
  • Assisting in the development of teacher implemented interventions.
  • Assisting with school wide programs.
  • Providing in-service training.
  • Service to Community:
  • Participating in the development of educational and community partnerships.
  • Working with communities to improve the lives of students.
  • Professional Development:
  • Attending in-service meetings and conferences to develop professional attitudes and skills.
  • Maintaining professional skills through reading of current literature and professional memberships.
  • Program Evaluation:
  • Participating in program evaluation.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of program evaluation.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervising school psychology interns and practicum students. Participation in research.
