Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/SecretaryDate Posted: 10/30/2024Location: Genoa-Hugo School DistrictDate Available: 12/09/2024School Secretary and Attendance Clerk Purpose of the Position: School Secretary and Attendance Clerk will be charged with providing exemplary customer service and serve as the first point of contact to all entering Genoa-Hugo School. This position will serve as a resource to building administration, be responsible for student attendance, and other front office duties as requested. Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bi-lingual skills preferable.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to accomplish various clerical/office tasks.
  • Maintain records in computer and perform all functions of the program effectively.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Remain confidential in all matters related to job.
  • Term of Employments:
  • Notice of Assignment shall be according to the school calendar, plus an additional 120 hours. (Start date: Monday, July 31st)
  • Compensation and leave benefits will be according to the adopted Classified Salary Schedule.
  • Those new to the district are required to go through a background check as per board policy.
  • Reports to: Superintendent Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serves as administrative assistant to the central office and Superintendent.
  • Keep attendance records on all students. (Edustar)
  • Manages the school website, school calendar and does necessary trainings
  • Assist the School Counselor with Registrar duties.
  • Lunch support
  • Place and receive telephone calls and record messages.
  • Assist Principal with scheduling substitute teachers and with any necessary information including duties, room assignment, etc.
  • Contact students and faculty to deliver phone or written messages.
  • Supervise students sent to office for nurse or disciplinary reasons.
  • Coordinate all paperwork regarding students entering and exiting school.
  • Exercise initiative and sound judgment, and react resourcefully under a variety of conditions.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the school office.
  • Compose and prepare a variety of correspondence, routine reports, and other materials requiring use of independent judgment as to accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete copying, and other office related activities for the staff.
  • Frequent contact with school personnel, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Visitor managment, Bell system and communication systems
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
