Job Description:

In this pivotal role, you'll drive scientific innovation, mentor trainees, and collaborate with researchers to optimize cutting-edge technologies. Your expertise in cellular immunology and commitment to advancing cancer research will help shape the future of our lab. Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a scientific leader for the core/lab, assisting the PI/Core Head in maintaining high scientific productivity and technical innovation.• Identify, test, and optimize cutting-edge technologies relevant to the core's mission, collaborating with internal and external researchers.• Teach and supervise postdoctoral trainees, graduate students, and technicians in effective technology use and scientific best practices.• Facilitate collaborative projects with other labs, core facilities, and external partners.• Assist in authoring and co-authoring publications, grant proposals, research protocols, and presentations at national meetings.

Key Qualifications:

• PhD-level scientist with broad scientific, technical, clinical, or professional knowledge and significant job-related experience to function as an internal consultant.• Commitment to supporting translational research efforts in an academic medical environment and ongoing education of junior research trainees.• Master's Degree in Science, Immunology, or Gene Engineering (7-10 years of experience preferred) or Doctorate in a related field (4-7 years of experience).• Extensive experience in cellular immunology, including T cell culture/cloning, retroviral transduction, multi-parameter FACS analysis, and ELISA/ELIspot.

Core Skills:

• Strong leadership and communication abilities to mentor and supervise lab staff.• Information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, and present information to employees and management.• Analytical skills to develop, analyze, and draw conclusions from financial and statistical data, as well as room layout blueprints.• Mathematical skills for preparing and monitoring complex budgets.• Excellent written and oral communication skills for composing documents and delivering presentations.• Proficiency in operating PCs and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and statistical applications.• Ability to operate department-specific information systems and understand network development and system analysis.
