Job Description :

We are seeking an innovative and analytical Scientist – Data and Modeler II to support strategic initiatives in a leading clean energy organization. This high-impact role applies advanced statistical techniques, machine learning models, and predictive analytics to solve complex business problems and drive data-informed decision-making across departments.

Position Responsibilities
  • Identify and scope new machine learning opportunities to improve business and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and IT to define data requirements and secure datasets for modeling.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor model-driven solutions.
  • Design and develop predictive models using techniques such as regression, classification, time-series, and neural networks.
  • Build and deploy computer vision models for classification, detection, and segmentation.
  • Conduct statistical analysis using tools such as Python, R, SAS, and SQL to derive actionable insights.
  • Apply advanced statistical tests (e.g., ANOVA, t-tests, multivariate analyses) to validate hypotheses and support business experiments.
  • Simulate and model scenarios to assess the impact of strategic decisions and initiatives.
  • Explore datasets through descriptive and inferential analytics to uncover patterns and business opportunities.
  • Use Power BI and data visualization tools (Matplotlib, seaborn, plotly) to present model findings.
  • Communicate technical results and business implications clearly to stakeholders across all levels.
  • Provide guidance on model tradeoffs including interpretability, complexity, and performance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest tools, technologies, and research in machine learning, AI, and data science.
  • Proactively introduce new methodologies to improve data-driven outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytics practices within the organization.
Prerequisites
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistics, or Physics with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience
  • PhD with 1+ year of experience in Data Science, AI, or ML algorithm development
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Expertise in Python, SAS, R, SQL, and statistical software
  • Proficiency in machine learning libraries (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Statsmodels)
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Matplotlib, Plotly, Bokeh)
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning pipelines, model validation, and tuning
  • Experience in statistical experiment design and complex data interpretation
What the Role Offers
  • Estimated Salary Range: $75,000 – $112,000 annually
