Join Us in Revolutionizing Women's Ovarian Health

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Scientist to join our innovative team at Gameto. This is a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research at the intersection of cell biology, biotechnology, and women's health, contributing directly to the development of novel cell therapies for menopause. Our mission is to transform the future of endocrine care for women by advancing therapeutic solutions that make a meaningful impact.

If you are passionate about scientific discovery, thrive in dynamic environments, and possess advanced expertise in pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, this role offers a platform for you to drive innovation in translational research.

About the Role

As a Scientist at Gameto, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative cell therapies for menopause. This role requires a deep understanding of cell biology, extracellular matrix, and cell secretion assays, and ideally, experience with three-dimensional culture models and cell encapsulation techniques. You will lead complex projects, contribute to protocol development, and collaborate closely with internal and external partners to push the boundaries of scientific discovery in women's health.

We are looking for an independent and collaborative scientist with demonstrated expertise in research, who enjoys the challenge of solving complex scientific problems while working across multiple fast-paced projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute research projects focused on developing biomaterial-integrated cell therapies for menopause, leveraging human pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and advanced encapsulation technologies.
  • Design, implement, and analyze complex experiments involving biomaterial characterization, cell encapsulation platforms, and diffusion-controlled delivery systems to support therapeutic development.
  • Optimize three-dimensional biomaterial-based culture systems to evaluate cellular function, viability, and immune interactions in physiologically relevant environments to assess biomaterial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance project goals and align research with Gameto's platform.
  • Develop scientific presentations and reports to communicate findings to internal teams, external collaborators, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain high-quality laboratory records and ensure compliance with research standards, safety procedures, and protocols.
  • Identify emerging technologies and contribute to strategic planning for scientific initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 0-2+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting beyond the PhD, in either academic and industry environments. The number of years of experience will determine the entry level for the role as a Scientist I, Scientist II, or Scientist III
  • Proven expertise in biomaterials design and development, including microencapsulation technologies and instrumentation, core-shell structures, multi-layer and multi-component constructs, and tuning porosity for optimizing diffusion.
  • Strong background in biomaterial characterization techniques, such as matrix structure analysis with electron microscopy and mechanical assessments using rheometry.
  • Experience studying cell-substrate interactions and their role in biomaterial function and performance.
  • Specific experience in biocompatibility and immune-evasive biomaterials is required, with preferred experience evaluating human and animal immunological responses.
  • Preferred experience in cell-based analytical assays, such as ELISA and other biochemical assays, for secretome and diffusion analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead independent research while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on precision, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with experience preparing scientific reports and presentations.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
