Aragen Bioscience, Inc. is a contract research organization that provides a diversity of services including molecular and cellular biology, stable cell line development, protein purification and process development as well as customized immunology and pre-clinical in vivo services for the global biotech and biopharmaceutical industry. Aragen's offices and labs are in Morgan Hill, California, at the south end of the Silicon Valley. Morgan Hill is within 20 minutes car commute from San Jose with reverse traffic during rush hours.We are currently seeking an experienced scientist/associate scientist in our preclinical research department. This is a great opportunity for candidates who wish to further expand his/her scientific and technical knowledge in preclinical R&D in diverse disease areas (e.g., oncology, autoimmune disease, virology, and respiratory disease models). The candidate will be involved in the critical function in the fast-paced, versatile, and various stages of preclinical R&Ds.Basic responsibilities:
- Conduct in vitro assay studies in a team environment. Experience with cell culture of mouse and human cell lines or primary cells is required. Experience with cell-based assays such as ELISA/MSD/Luminex, Western blotting/Jess, cytotoxicity and proliferation assays, fluorescence or luminescence reporter assays, and flow cytometry is required.
- Manage studies from initiation through completion, including protocol writing, reagent procurement and management, conducting and tracking experiment progress, analyzing and communicating results and designing follow-up assays.
- Practice solid documentation of experimental procedures and activities.
- Analyze and prepare data using Excel, Prism, Flowjo, PowerPoint and other software.
RequirementsRequirements:
- MS/PhD. in relevant fields such as immunology, cancer biology, neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology with academic or industry experience are preferred. PhD or Postdocs looking to start their career in biotech industry are encouraged to apply.
- Independently organize research activities, define experimental designs, develop effective experimental strategies and execute experiments in the lab with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to learn the new techniques, develop assays and troubleshoot with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Possess strong interpersonal and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective management of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, good work ethic skills and can-do attitude.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on research findings and progress to team members and customers.
- Be able to start immediately.
