Are you a passionate and meticulous Molecular and Cellular Biologist looking to make a significant impact in the field of biotechnology? Join our innovative research team in South San Francisco, where you'll play a key role in advancing the understanding of GPCR cellular signaling through state-of-the-art assay development. This full-time, on-site position offers a dynamic environment working with the latest technologies such as CRISPR, Calcium, and cAMP assays.

About the Role:

As a member of our team, your primary focus will be on the development and evaluation of mono-culture cell models. You will design, execute, and analyze experiments using advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques to investigate new formulations and cellular signaling pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

Experimental Design and Execution:

  • Independently design and execute experiments to study GPCR signaling and formulation interactions.
  • Develop and maintain sterile mono-culture cell models, particularly for CNS drug development.
  • Employ cell-based assays, including Calcium and cAMP assays, to measure molecular and cellular responses.
  • Utilize molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, transfections, CRISPR, immunostaining, and FACS.

Optimization and Collaboration:

  • Optimize cell culture conditions for reproducibility and scalability.
  • Maintain meticulous records of experimental outcomes and ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including formulation scientists and analytical professionals.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of pertinent research experience in a molecular and cellular biology lab within an academic or biopharmaceutical context.
  • Strong grasp of the Scientific Method and experimental design fundamentals.
  • Proven proficiency in sterile mammalian cell culture techniques and standard molecular biology methods.
  • Hands-on expertise with CRISPR, Calcium, and cAMP assays.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
