Scrapyard Crane Operator - Superior Forge & Steel Corporation : Job Details

Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Scrapyard Crane Operator for our operation in Lima, Ohio. The Crane Operator is a member of our Melt Department responsible for operating an overhead crane to facilitate movement of product and materials for scrapyard and melting operations.

Responsibilities:

* Pre-operation inspection and testing of crane and associated equipment

* Operation of overhead (cab) crane

* Communication with operators and employees on floor

* Timely reporting of equipment problems and issues

* Maintaining all equipment and documentation needed for crane operation

* Perform other department duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

* Must be comfortable working at heights

* Must be capable of standing for long periods of time

* Exposed to seasonal temperature changes

* Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED required

* Previous experience with heavy equipment or crane operation required

* Previous overhead crane experience preferred

* Strong attention to detail

* Must be able to work any shift, including some weekends

Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen

Classification: Hourly
