Company Overview:The Flying Boxcars play at Meritus Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. The locally owned, state-of-the-art facility was named the '2024 Ballpark of the Year' in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, celebrating its 26th anniversary this year. The ownership of Downtown Baseball LLC. is dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Hagerstown and providing the community a place to live, work and play. The organization is looking for dedicated and hard-working individuals to join the Flying Boxcars team and be part of an amazing process in creating memories for all of Hagerstown.Compensation:$1,200.00 stipend per month. The position will have a start date in April 2025 and last until the end of September 2025. The start date is flexible depending on the candidate's availability.Position Overview: Ticket Sales associate will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the organization's daily operations including back-end ticket systems operations and analysis while developing skills related to successful direct revenue generation. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and goal-oriented with a desire to pursue a career in ticket operations and/or sales.Primary ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities for the Ticketing Associate include but are not limited to:* Utilize Glitnir ticket software to sell tickets for individuals, ticket packages, and group outings * Become well-versed with the ticketing system, ticket prices, ballpark and hospitality inventory in order to answer any questions fans have either in person or over the phone. * Answer office phone throughout the day, assisting with answering questions and taking phone orders * Maintain patron records in the Flying Boxcars ticketing software and related systems. * Provide operations support to the Ticket Operations, Group Sales and Corporate Partnerships departments * Implement new ideas to improve the day-to-day efficiency of the Ticket Operations department * Assist with hiring and training game day ticketing staff and creating a weekly work schedule* Provide support to game day ticketing staff * Assist in game day operations including fan support and walk-up ticket sales* Represent the organization at community eventExperience/Attributes Required: Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop).Strong attention to detail with Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Qualifications: Self-motivated and hard working Current Driver's License; successful completion of a background check Responsible individual with sound judgement. Completing or have completed a four-year college degree strongly preferred (Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or other related field). Team Player that must work well in team setting and individually. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment This position requires a candidate to have administrative skills, such as using Excel and Microsoft Office Products. Candidate must be able to work long hours including weekends in the height of the season. Candidate must be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, bend, lift, push, pull, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time.
