The season begins the first week of November and ends approximately in early March. Games are played on Wednesday nights. Examples of Duties
- Reports to assigned facility prior to first game.
- Begins all games on time. Interprets and enforces all game rules. Maintains control of game at all times.
- Supervises and controls the general conduct of all participants.
- Invokes and imposes penalties for rule violations.
- Examines equipment and playing area.
- Immediately reports information regarding all protests to the Site Supervisor.
- Wears proper officiating attire.
- Maintains communication with Site Supervisor to run an effective and efficient game.
- Maintains a positive environment by encouraging participants to display proper sportsmanship. Ejects any players, fans, or teams due to excessive unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Check outs with Site Supervisor at conclusion of game.
- Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience and officiating experience desirable.
- Experience working with the public desirable.
A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of game, recreation facilities, and programs.
- Knowledge and skill in officiating.
- Ability to supervise and maintain control of all 'on field' situations. Ability to integrate instruction into the management of the game. Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public in a courteous and tactful manner. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
Physical Requirements:Ability to perform the following activities:
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent walking, running, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, grasping, reaching, and kneeling.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to see and hear.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.
