Weldall Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Secondary Operations Technician to join our team. This role is key in supporting our production process by performing essential secondary operations like drilling, grinding, and beveling, as well as ensuring high-quality parts for the next stages of production. We have openings for this position on 1st or 2nd shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite and Collect Parts: Prepare parts for the next operation to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Quality Inspections: Verify the correct quantity and perform first-piece and random dimensional inspections to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Precision Operations: Operate tools such as sanders, grinders, and drills to perform tasks like grinding, beveling, reaming, tapping, boring, and spot facing.
  • Metric and Blueprint Interpretation: Read and convert metric drawings with ease and precision.
  • Tool Selection and Setup: Choose appropriate speeds, feeds, tooling, and sequences for various materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Layout and Drill Operations: Use drawings, specifications, and templates to perform layout and drilling tasks with care.
  • Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and cranes to move materials, following standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
  • Safety First: Follow established safety protocols, ensuring all equipment and tools are used correctly to prevent accidents.
  • Reliable Attendance: Be present and punctual for every shift, contributing to a dependable and consistent team environment.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with drilling, grinding, and other hands-on operations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Comfort working with metric drawings and performing detailed inspections of parts.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts and cranes to move and transfer products, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Vision and Focus: This role requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Active Role: You'll be standing, walking, and moving materials in a dynamic and hands-on environment.
