BASIC FUNCTION:
This position works in the school office and provides a wide range of administrative duties for the school, teachers, parents and students. This includes answering the telephone, greeting and directing visitors, taking and tracking attendance, taking daily lunch counts, charging students during lunch, selling bus passes, handling petty cash and making bank deposits. This position works closely with the Secretary I position and assists them with tasks for the principal, finding substitute teachers, mail distribution, making intercom announcements, coordinating school celebrations, scheduling conferences, collecting fees, updating student records, and sending out parent communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Attendance: Oversees and administers the attendance policies and processes. This involves tracking attendance, contacting parents and keeping Principal and teachers informed of any issues.
+ Lunch Accounts: Oversees and administers the lunch fee process. Gathers payments, check lunch accounts, and ensure accuracy in lunch accounts and payments.
+ Lunch Charges: Be present during all lunch shifts to charge students for lunch and milk when they go through the line.
+ Fees: Collects fees and/or funds from student events and ensures accuracy and timely completion of transactions and bank deposits.
+ Visitors: Greets all incoming visitors for the purpose of ensuring that guests sign in/out as required.
+ Administration Duties: Performs recordkeeping and general clerical functions (e.g., scheduling, copying, faxing, mailings, etc.) to support school staff.
+ Student Support: Evaluates situations (e.g., involving other staff, students, parents, the public, police, probation department, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
