Security Engineer - Recru : Job Details

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Proofpoint Security Engineer with over 5 years of expertise in managing and securing email security environments. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Proofpoint's advanced email security products, along with hands-on experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office 365. You will be responsible for configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting Proofpoint solutions, ensuring the integrity and security of our email communication infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and configure Proofpoint Email Security Solutions (e.g., Proofpoint Enterprise Protection, Threat Response, and Targeted Attack Protection).
• Administer and maintain Proofpoint Security Gateway, Proofpoint Email Encryption, and Proofpoint Cloud Protection for MS Office 365.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration between Proofpoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Office 365.
• Perform daily operations of Proofpoint security systems, monitoring for incidents, threats, and system performance issues.
• Configure and maintain policies to protect against phishing, malware, ransomware, and other email-based threats.
• Investigate, analyze, and remediate email security incidents, including spear-phishing attacks and other advanced persistent threats (APTs).
• Stay up to date on email security best practices, and provide guidance on improving security posture for Microsoft Office 365 and Proofpoint solutions.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify gaps or weaknesses in the current email security strategy.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to continuously improve security operations, incident response, and overall email security effectiveness.
• Provide expert-level support for troubleshooting complex issues related to email security, with a focus on Proofpoint products, MS Outlook, and Office 365 environments.
• Train and mentor junior security staff on Proofpoint products, email security protocols, and threat mitigation techniques.
• Generate and present detailed reports on security incidents, performance metrics, and security improvements to senior leadership.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for email systems, ensuring business continuity.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Over 5 years of experience working with Proofpoint email security products (Enterprise Protection, Targeted Attack Protection, Email Encryption, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Outlook and Office 365, particularly in an enterprise security context.
• Extensive experience with email filtering, threat detection, and incident response within Microsoft environments.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of Proofpoint Security Solutions and its integration with email platforms.
• Strong understanding of email security protocols, including DMARC, SPF, DKIM, and TLS.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange and cloud-based email services such as Office 365 and Exchange Online Protection (EOP).
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting within Office 365 and Proofpoint.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in identifying and resolving security incidents related to email.

Certifications (preferred):

• Proofpoint Security Certifications (e.g., Proofpoint Security Essentials).
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer).
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are a plus.
