This event is EAA's annual convention and draws more than 650,000 attendees and 10,000 aircraft.EAA is a sought-after organization with a competitive and unique benefit package, which includes the EAA Flying Club, career advancement opportunities, fun perks, along with being immersed around passionate EAA Members and Volunteers.SUMMARYEnsure a safe and secure environment for employees, volunteers and their property. Provide protection services to artifacts, displays and equipment. Provide a safe environment to visitors, including those who visit the EAA Aviation Museum and attend EAA sponsored or non-sponsored events and programs. Ensure the protection of EAA's facilities, buildings and grounds.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Open/close the EAA Aviation Museum and turn displays and lights on/off.
  • Observe guests attending the EAA Aviation Museum to guard against possible problem activity and notify proper authorities if there is a problem.
  • Provide first aid services to individuals in need and activate emergency response protocol for injuries/illness outside the scoop of first aid.
  • Respond to security/fire alarms to investigate the cause and notify the proper authorities of the situation.
  • Maintain first aid supplies and equipment throughout EAA facilities.
  • Provide security and first aid services for after hours and weekend events held at EAA facilities.
  • Provide assistance to the Events department and Maintenance department as requested during and in preparation for events.
  • Manage event parking and traffic flow to include pedestrian traffic.
  • Under the guidance of the Manger of Safety & Security, participate in duties such as: Inspection, Incident Investigation, Security Equipment Inventory and Event Security Supervision.
  • Check EAA facilities, buildings and grounds to include leased properties, to determine if the building/area is secure and investigate/report any variances or suspicious circumstances.
  • When requested, provide security via special assignments
  • May escort individuals to protect them from bodily harm or invasion of privacy
  • Consider possible threats to VIP's safety
  • Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • High school diploma.
    • Familiar experience within the security field.
    • Certified First Aid/CPR.
    • Must be able handle flex scheduling, to include nights and weekends.
    • Must be able to work outside during inclement weather conditions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    COMPETENCIES
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to work unsupervised and/or with a team
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • OSHA Certification
