  • Position Summary
    • The Security Guard assumes responsibility and accountability for actions, which include, but are not limited to: Security Guard provides general security duties for the protection of the hospital, its property, staff and visitors. Responds to and reports unusual conditions.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education
      • High school degree or equivalent required.Credentials
      • Credentials
        • BLS required. Completion of CPI training required.
  • Physical Demands
    • Stand and/or walk constant.
    • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist occasionally.
    • Climb ladder and/or 26 steps occasionally.
    • Bend frequently.
    • Eye-hand coordination within normal limits.
  • Essential Functions
    • Responds to Codes, Gray, Blue, and Pink. Red, Silver, Orange and Yellow and other security incidents when requested.
    • Tests levels of security on a regular basis to ensure adequate security is being maintained.
    • Notes observed operational or maintenance discrepancies and communicates information to maintenance staff for correction. This includes parking lot lights, exterior building lights, and other safety related hazards.
    • Assists staff with patient escorts, lift assists and deliveries.
    • Demonstrates safety and competent use of equipment. Demonstrates proper use of software applications to carry out duties.
    • Ability to observe and correct unsafe conditions before a problem arises. Knowledge of hospital safety and security policies and procedures preferred.
    • Ability to work with intoxicated, hostile or uncooperative persons required.
