Summary:Duties include patrolling and observing the activities of persons in and around the medical clinics. Work involves assessing problem situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution. Work also involves ensuring that buildings are properly locked and that no unauthorized personnel are in restricted areas.Compensation:$19.56 - $22.00 per hourEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Administrative Functions:
Visually patrols buildings, building grounds, and parkinglots to observe unusual behavior and to prevent bodily harm, theft, and vandalism.Prevents unauthorized access to restricted areas.Open buildings for authorized entries.Escorts personnel from building after hours or when needed.Answers routine inquiries and directs patients, clients, visitors to appropriate areasInvestigates safety issues observed or reported, including problems of temperature, lighting, open windows, trip hazards, hardware malfunction and facility security.Identifies building maintenance needs not requiring prompt attention and submits work orders to correct them.Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.Assists police, fire department and any other law enforcing agency as appropriate.Prepares a report of daily activitiesOther duties as assigned.Strategic:

Diploma from an approved High School or GED Equivalent.Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.Hold a current California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.Complete 8-hours of annual BSIS approved Security Training.Minimum of one-year experience as a security guard.All staff that is presently working within a clinic is required to have a Current and Valid CPR and First Aide certification on file with the Human Resources Department. This is for clinical and administrative staff. This new license requirement is mandatory for continued employment, CPR and First Aide certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
