Security Guard (Part-time) - G-III Apparel Group : Job Details

G-III Apparel Group is looking for a high quality, professional security officer for our office building. This Security Officer will provide protection of all persons and property, verifying the identification of guests, visitors, and all company employees, providing information and directions, explaining rules and regulations, maintaining logs and records of occurrences, and completing necessary paperwork. Will also be responsible for patrolling and inspecting on foot the building to ensure personal, building, and equipment security, responding to emergencies. May use the computer terminal to input and retrieve data.

Location (On Site): 512 7th Avenue, Midtown - Manhattan - Fashion District

Responsibilities:

• Provide needed assistance to customers, co-workers, and visitors
• Observe and report suspicious activities and persons
• Take action based on the situation, known facts, and position limitations
• Follow all Company Rules and Regulations
• Oversee building access procedures
• Assisting visitors to the buildings
• Perform security checks, identifying suspicious activity, and enforcing security rules and regulations
• Secures premises by patrolling interior and exterior of the facility; Inspecting building, equipment, and access points; ensures security of all doors and gates.
• Monitor surveillance equipment.
• Monitor and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and other persons, asking for appropriate documentation and/or authorization in order to stop suspicious people and guard against theft, diversion, loss and maintaining security of premises.
• Investigate and report irregular activities, such as property damage, theft, unauthorized personnel, disturbances, hazards, and suspicious activities to the Security Manager and/or local police when required.
• Respond to all all alarms and investigate.
• Ensure reports, records and other documentation are accurate, complete, timely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Escort unauthorized persons off the premises when necessary.
• Contact Police, Fire Department or EMS in cases of emergency.

Qualifications:

• Possess a Valid NY State Security License
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 8-hour and 16-hour security certificate
• Ability to stand and be mobile for long periods of time
• Must be an excellent communicator
• Stable work history in Corporate Security
• Possess excellent computer skills
• Must be able to be outdoors in all climates and weather
• Exhibit exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work on-site Monday - Friday, 3PM-7PM
• Former Law Enforcement/Veterans are highly encouraged to apply

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 per week

Experience level: 2+ years

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday

The pay range for this position is: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
