Job Responsibilities: The Security Officer assumes control of emergency and non-emergency security related situations and brings them to a satisfactory conclusion. Responsibilities include:

Responding quickly and effectively to emergency situations, codes, and/or alarms.

Observing and enforcing policies and procedures for the security and safety of patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and property.

Maintaining security and safety for assigned area of responsibility and campus.

Safely regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic when requested or during emergent situations.

Providing a visible deterrence to crime and suspicious activities in various areas.

Maintaining strong knowledge of the locations of various departments and assisting in locating areas upon request.

Performing patrols and escorts on hospital property.

Responding to calls for service and documenting in the security activity and incident reporting system.

Ensuring security activity and incident reports accurately reflect the facts of occurrences and are completed in a timely manner.

Documenting violators of hospital policies and reporting to security leadership.

Providing basic interview and investigative knowledge for written incident reports.

Utilizing knowledge of security and safety principles, practices, and policies.

Providing input to safety plans and ensuring safe practices.

Performing additional technical duties as required in support of hospital operations. This is a casual, float pool position with a varied shift and schedule in San Diego. Flexibility and floating to all hospital and clinic sites as needed is required. #LI-JS1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
