Job DescriptionAVERT Security Operations Center Operator - Now Hiring! Location: Redmond, WA Rate: $34.48/hour The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is staffed twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator, you will use open-source material to find, research, and assess information that could indicate a potential concern to the client, its employees, and its interests. You will create detailed reports of incidents using internal incident management reporting systems and assist in the response to larger incidents that impact the client and develop protocols and practices to drive efficiency and to manage crises. The SOC Operator will help to continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop best in class programs that drive sustainable effectiveness. Responsibilities:
- Monitor all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems.
- Monitor designated areas through exterior and interior cameras, promptly responding to potential dangers and client concerns.
- Evaluate and assess the root cause of alarms to ensure effective response.
- Identify and investigate potential threats with minimal information/description.
- Stay vigilant for signs of protests, riots, or other civil disturbances outside or around company property.
- Maintain and update all required tracking systems.
- Maintain precise control of all assigned equipment.
- Log incident reports, investigation findings, and after-action reviews accurately in spread sheets and shift passdowns.
- Conduct CCTV audits on behalf of the client to make assessments by submitting the proper resolution tickets for all affected cameras and their alignment.
- Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
- Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders.
- Inform leadership promptly about any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment or communication systems.
- Exhibit a customer service-oriented approach in interactions with leadership, clients, peers, and the general public.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client concerns, addressing issues and providing assurance regarding security measures.
- Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor while upholding security standards and protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
- 18 years or older.
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years of one or more of the following experiences: Executive Protection, Intelligence, Operations, Critical Incident Management or Corporate Security.
- Intermediate to Advance computer proficiency.
- Competence with MS Office Suite and other database systems.
- Must be able to effectively and confidently disseminate information to individuals, groups, peers, clients, executives and stakeholders.
- Must be willing to sign an NDA and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to remain calm and handle high-stress situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to quickly adapt and excel in dynamic situations.
- Prepare written reports of incidents in the proper format and with correct grammar and spelling.
- Demonstrated excellence in providing customer service.
- Must be reliable, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and discern patterns in detail.
