The primary purpose of these positions is to carry out assigned duties concerning the security of the flight line and the protection of the resources located within the confines of the Gowen Field Installation. Incumbents are required to work varied shifts and during inclement weather.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Patrols and checks buildings, storage areas, aircraft parking areas, etc., to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering.2. Protects buildings, equipment and aircraft from theft, sabotage, espionage or any other damage. Performs emergency security measures required to secure the combat potential of the Idaho National Guard (IDNG) against attack by small hostile forces or mobs. Manages and controls incidents, disturbances and accidents.3. Complies with and enforces standards of conduct and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, and complies with use of force policies.4. Prepares clear and concise oral and written reports on incidents, accidents and violations.5. Conducts proper vehicle traffic stops with the purpose and intent of the enforcing pertinent laws and regulations, maintains traffic management awareness and safety, and controls access to Gowen Field.6. Incumbents must demonstrate appropriate customs and courtesies at all times.WORK CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL EFFORT: Performs patrol duties outdoors and in all types of weather conditions. Performs dispatcher and alarm monitor duties in an office environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work will require lifting items, such as equipment or supplies, weighing up to 75 pounds. Prolonged standing may be expected. Incumbents must maintain sufficient physical condition to pass the Air Force physical fitness test and other physical acts which may be necessary during training, emergency responses, crisis intervention or detention of suspects. Approximately 70% of work is performed outdoors. Incumbents may be exposed to dangers associated with live firing of ammunition on ranges and an arid desert environment.
