ROLE SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment and facilities across retail locations. This role will involve significant travel (75%) across New York state. The technician will perform various tasks, including routine and emergency maintenance, and ensure the safe, efficient operation of all systems within our retail environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing surveillance systems at the Chestertown facility.
  • Regulating and monitoring facility access to vendors and visitors.
  • Daily checks of the Chestertown facility cameras and all offices, greenhouses and perimeter.
  • Maintain a professional and working relationship with the contracted security company to address any current or potential security concerns. Conduct at least monthly meetings with Security Company to discuss any issues etc.
  • Maintain, review and modify employee access control and company photograph identification privileges.
  • Review the Diversion and other security-related SOP's and send recommended revisions as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and working relationship with the off-site alarm operations company.
  • Be willing to be the first call in the event of an alarm in the facility and determine whether to dispatch police.
  • Investigate and respond, if necessary, to any reported accidents, thefts, property loss or unlawful activities.
  • Review and address all incoming security incident reports.
  • Utilizing existing anti-diversion measures to ensure the safety and security of all cannabis, medical cannabis products and employees.
  • Maintain a professional and working relationship with city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Ensure compliance by employees of security-related guidelines and procedures.
  • Be willing to perform additional security-related responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in security technologies, including proficiency in access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proven leadership and personnel management skills, with a track record of effectively managing safety and security personnel while fostering a cohesive unit.
  • Exceptional decision-making skills and the ability to take appropriate actions in challenging situations.
  • Strong planning and administrative skills to efficiently manage security operations and documentation.
  • Comfortable with a high level of accountability, consistently delivering results and taking ownership of security responsibilities.

SKILLS:

  • Minimum of three years in security operations experience.
  • Must be able to accurately use computer-based point of sale software systems.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be a highly-organized administrator with an excellent working knowledge of security operations, safety practices.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the technology related to data processing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in cultivation and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand at a workstation for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms and ability to work on iPad, laptop or desktop for extended periods of time reading, reviewing and analyzing information and providing recommendations and summaries to patients. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employees may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 25 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology or a related field preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibility of the Security department.
