Job Summary
Reporting to the Technical Support Supervisor, the Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support in the maintenance and upgrades to the security system at PSEGLI. The desired person will perform as an administrator in configuring and maintaining the various security systems at PSEGLI and oversee support for the systems. The individual will assist in ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures related to the operation of physical security systems.
The position is responsible for the planning and implementation of work needed to support the security system. The incumbent has SME responsibility of integrating the system(s) to function in the PSEGLI environment. The individual will assign the work of contractors to ensure contractor companies who will be installing and programing the system used, monitoring, response, and support functions. The position will provide technical support for the electronic security systems at PSEGLI. The position will also provide support for NERC compliance related tasks as well as support for the key control program at PSEGLI.
Job Responsibilities
Implement policies and procedures related to physical security systems and processes; including conducting hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements.
Investigate technical issues and prepare detailed plans to rectify the root cause issues and develop mitigation plans to support continued operations. Manage and monitor remediation activities.
Monitor the work of outside contractor personnel to assure proper handling of repairs and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Plan, organize and present system security information to all audience levels including regulatory auditors and internal NERC compliance reviews.
Represent Corporate Security with internal business units, management, and external agencies as needed. Also represent the department on cross functional Committees.
Provide key control support to include the creation, issuance, and tracking of keys and lock hardware.
Assist in maintaining key control program policies and procedures.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, or other related field with 3 years of security systems IT support experience
In lieu of a degree 5 years of experience installing and configuring security systems or providing security systems IT technical support
Experience supervising personnel.
Working knowledge of the installation, configuring, and maintenance of electronic security equipment.
Proficiency with MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience obtaining information and writing technical assessment reports.
Experience developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
Must demonstrate flexibility to work extended and unusual hours involving ever-changing situations and
Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal).
Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history.
Desired
Working knowledge of AMAG, Genetec, and/or other electronic security systems.
Proficiency in reading detailed AutoCAD and Visio design drawings.
IT infrastructure and networking experience.
Database programming experience.
Project management experience.
Previous experience working with an Electric Utility organization.
Experience with on call security coverage
