Summary:Provide security for patients, employees, visitors and employees and all those who come in contact with PHS. Have a working knowledge of security equipment and systems as required. Perform hazard and risk surveillance in conjunction with fulfillment of security program execution.

Qualifications:Otherinformation:Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred. Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills. Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician. Must be able to demonstrate familiarization of hospital locations and operations within 6 months of hire date. All facilities require the ability to drive a company owned vehicle. Must have a current New Mexico drivers license, and must be insurable by Presbyterian Healthcare Services

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:Completes all required training within prescribed time limits.*Conducts routine and ad hoc patrols of hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized visitors.*Conducts hazard surveillance for safety, security and infection control issues.*Completes activity log for each shift worked, detailing activities, accounting for complete shift or duty hours.*Checks equipment, including patrol vehicle daily, documenting on appropriate checklist.*Serves as an organizational member of the PHS ADS Hazardous Material / Decontamination team as required.*Responds to Workplace Violence reports, and notifies appropriate Security Division supervisor as appropriate.*Conducts investigations, maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertaining to security as required.*Maintain and enforce established departmental/organizational policies and procedures.*Prepares written documentation as required by the profession, department and organization*Interacts and professionally manages issues with employees, physicians, visitors, contractors, and vendors and all who come in contact with PHS.*Collaborates with local, state and federal agencies as required and approved by PHS.*Keep supervisor informed of activities and location during the shift.*Respond to calls for key service, vehicle assist, and escorts in a timely manner.*Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meeting and scheduled training.*Secures patient valuables or lost and found articles; maintains logs of items received.*Controls parking and traffic flow, enforces parking policies and issues citations as required.*Monitors conduct of visitors on hospital premises; confronts possible unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.*Gathers necessary information over the radio, phone or in person in a timely, efficient and professional manner.*Gives appropriate response times to requests for service,*Reports to work on time, properly uniformed and with all equipment checked and functional.*Gathers necessary information (pass on) at start of shift to ensure he/she is up to date on current events to adequately perform their duties.*Maintains a high level of confidentiality as required and reports any confidentiality breaches to proper authorities immediately or as soon as possible.*Reports all possible complaints to supervisor or director as soon as possible and documents.*Reports any misconduct of any PHS employee, visitor, physician or anyone who comes into contact with PHS to supervisor, director or appropriate authority within prescribed time limits.*Maintains all security equipment, uniforms and vehicles as required and reports any issues or misuse to supervisor or director as soon as possible.*Follows chain of responsibility accordingly.*Keeps supervisor or director informed of any changes in personal information related to work.*Attends all mandatory meetings, classes, etc.*This position will require heavy lifting of greater or equal to 50 pounds for more than 33% of their shifts in situations where self-defense is deemed necessary*May be required to assist with lifting of patients, visitors and or staff.*May be required to assist in lifting of deceased persons*Capable of defending self and other within violent incidents.*Assist medical staff in the restraint of violent, agitated and or hostile persons.*Capable of long periods of standing and foot patrols.
