Seed Sales & Processing Manager - American Crystal Sugar Company : Job Details

We are looking for a driven individual to join our Beet Seed Division at Technical Services Center as a Seed Sales & Processing Manager. The purpose of this position is to establish and manage the beet seed sales team of 16 sales agents who sell and distribute Crystal Beet Seed to American Crystal Sugarbeet growers. They will manage all activities of the beet seed processing facility in a cost-efficient manner to produce a high-quality seed product for sales. Also, this individual will serve as one of the two ACSC representatives of the Board of Directors of West Coast Beet Seed (WCBS) Company working in all stages of seed production. This is an active board that establishes direction and polices.ACCOUNTABILITIESThe principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Lead and promote a positive work culture through our company values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
• Develops annual seed sales promotion program, seed distribution plan and establishes a competitive beet seed price ensuring company profitability.
• Promotes favorable customer relations and ensures ACSC's credibility in the marketplace to assure growth and profitability. Maintain a strong working relationship with American Crystal's Agronomy staff to educate them on Crystal varieties to help maximize seed sales.
• Adheres to anti-trust laws in conjunction with customer relationships to avoid anti-trust violations. Maintains professional relationship and communications/interaction with our seed treatment/processing partners, our seed treatment suppliers, and our germplasm partners,
• Manages beet seed inventory to ensure supply and demand is met. Manage and maintains carryover inventory at acceptable and agreed upon levels. Allocates product to the 16-grower sales agents in an equitable manner.
• Manages, motivates and educates sales force to ensure sales goals are met. Ensures necessary sales tools are available. Follows up with sales agents to ensure all necessary orders/invoices are completed and mailed to appropriate parties.
• Direct handling of customer service incidents and complaints in a timely manner. Develops seed sales estimates and beet seed sales and seed processing operating budgets.
• Manages beet seed processing operations to ensure maximum output and efficiency.
• Develops and maintains quality control standards for beet seed processing to maximize grower satisfaction.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCETo be successful in this position requires overall knowledge of marketing and sales techniques in addition to knowledge of farming practices, operations, current crop production principles and beet seed processing operations. The position requires a four-year degree in Agronomy or a closely related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience and hold a Certified crop Advisor (CCA) Certification or required to have CCA certification within 3 years of time in this position. Effective supervisory, computer, and oral and written communications are required along with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people. The ability to effectively communicate product knowledge to the sales agents and to customers is essential.
