Seeking part-time Lab Technician for weekend work - Mango : Job Details

The ideal candidate has a background in life science, is a fast learner, and is detail-oriented. We are looking for self-starters with a can-do attitude that want to be part of a rapidly growing startup and grow with the company. As part of our Bio Team, you will be helping to progress biological experiments.

You may be a recent life sciences graduate, experienced lab technician, or someone with wet lab experience. The most important part is that you are hungry and excited to be a part of a great team that is revolutionizing Microbial Testing. We require 2-6 hrs/week of part-time contract work at our site in West LA; work will occur primarily on weekends.

Microbiology Responsibilities:

• Performance of several culture techniques including:
• Microbial isolation using streak plate techniques
• Microbial recovery and counting using spread plate technique
• Broth inoculation
• Cell passaging in a biosafety cabinet
• Good documentation practices and inventory management
• General wet lab practices including mixing media solutions, serial dilutions, and media sterilization
• Good aseptic technique

Qualifications:

• Detail oriented
• Independent worker
• Some scientific and technical background
• Comfortable handling chemicals and biological materials (will receive proper training)
