Job DescriptionA well-established, fast-paced manufacturing business is looking to hire a Fabrication/Assembly Manager immediately! For over 50 years they have continued to grow and expand providing a great opportunity to join the team at THE shop to work at! This is an important role within the organization, and you will work closely with other managers and company leaders where your voice and opinions will be heard when it's time to make decisions and implement programs. As the Fabrication/Assembly Manager, you will focus on problem solving and continuous improvement by methodically observing operational performance with the goal of improving execution, increasing output, and streamlining processes. Fabrication/Assembly Manager Responsibilities:
  • Use knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools, methods, and practices as part of your daily management practices and interactions including discover and utilize new technologies as appropriate.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor personnel to promote growth and ensure established standards for safety, efficiency, and performance of welding/assembly are met daily.
  • Understand and support team with specifications/applying specifications and drawings/reading drawings along with knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
  • Prepare concise reports of performance documentation, reviews, and inspection results.
Fabrication/Assembly Manager Experience:
  • General leadership experience in the manufacturing or welding/fabrication industries
  • Experience and strong knowledge of GMAW, SMAW, FCAW applications
  • Practiced in the inspection of welds to recognized National Codes and Standards
  • Proficiency preferred or ability to learn to read and follow customer blueprints with associated specifications
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, methods, and practices
  • Possess great communication skills [both verbal and written] with which to clearly delegate to coworkers, interact with company managers, and interface with customers
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety workplace requirements
  • Understand and perform in accordance with our AS9100 quality management system
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently.
  • Possess at the minimum a high school diploma or GED.
  • Able to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Must have the hand and finger dexterity to work a keyboard.
