Selective Admissions Associate
This position is an on-campus, full-time, 12-month appointment covered by the Professional Support Staff (PSS) Union with an annual salary of $38,501.69.

The Selective Admissions Associate is responsible for assisting students and candidates with application and enrollment procedures, providing initial determination of minimum qualifications for selective admissions programs, and maintaining student records for those students applying to a selective program. The Selective Admissions Associate ensures that each student's admission status is correctly assessed, student scores are accurately calculated for the appropriate program, and they give appropriate guidance regarding timely and efficient completion of all requirements that would affect their admission into a selective program.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the enrollment of students in classes each semester.
- Contact students applying to a selective admissions program and inform them of important deadlines, requirements, program availability, and compile all information required to meet the deadlines for the scoring process.
- Evaluate and process transcripts and placement tests to create individual scoring packets for each qualifying student applying to a selective program.
- Take the appropriate steps in resolving various enrollment/grading issues with students and departments within Student Services and Academic Services.
- Process applications, transcripts, and program code change forms.
- Make initial determinations of residency status.
- Collect and record payment of application fees.
- Collaborate with the Director, Associate Directors, and staff to increase effectiveness of admission procedures and processes with students.
- Answer telephone, written, and in-person inquiries about admission and enrollment in Parkland College programs.
- Prepare reports on availability and utilization of various programs.
- Leverage the CRM Slate on a daily basis to manage and track student data
- Communicate with department administrators and program directors to determine admission criteria and class sizes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate Degree; OR three (3) years related work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Organized, adaptable, efficient, professional, detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to effectively work with a wide variety of people and situations, some potentially stressful.
- Functional ability in Microsoft Suite applications, especially Microsoft office, and the ability to learn the Parkland information system, and new programs as technology changes.
- Verbal and mathematical abilities sufficient to produce correspondence, communicate effectively, and perform other duties.
- Ability to multitask multiple projects and prioritize as needed.
- In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment. This applies to all SURS annuitants except those receiving their annuity under either the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
