Selector - Food Authority : Job Details

Description: The objective of this position is to exceed the customer's expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.Required skills and abilities:1-3 years in related position, experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment preferred.The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.The ability to work flexible hours.The ability to lift heavy objects.Excellent communication skills.Strong work ethic.Work independently.Computer Skills, ideally WMSAbility to follow safety protocolsPhysical requirements:The ability to lift 50/80 pounds regularlyThe ability to respond quickly to soundsThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spacesThe ability to see and respond to dangerous situationsThe ability to work for short period of time in cooler and freezerMinimum Selector Requirements18 years of age or older1 year in related position, experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment.Ability to operate Warehouse Equipment; pallet jack; forklift; RF ScannerProper stacking and wrapping of palletsAble to work in a cold environment for long periodsAble to read in English purchase orders and understand directionsSelector Demands:Taking ordersFinding required goodsDetecting errorsChecking materials qualityPackaging itemsSunday through Saturday1 shift 6AMAccountabilities:Accurately count and assemble parcels according to purchase ordersMaintains product integrity, and temperature controls,Works with all departments to assure safe quality foodWorks efficiently in a timely mannerWorks with safety in mind at all timesFollows FIFO systemAssists with various reports: inventory counts, adjustments, damaged products, location Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick upMaintain safe trucks through proper stacking and wrapping of pallets for safe weight distribution in trucksReplenish stock as neededStacks pallets according to specifications for food safetyStage items correctly for loadingKeep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, removal of packaging and pallets after pickingProper use and application of license plateAssist in other departments as needed
