This position starts at $26.40 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks/trailers using a manual two-wheeler and also a variety of motorized equipment such as pushers, squeeze trucks, fork trucks and pallet jacks. Physical labor involved in this activity varies but can involve pushing/pulling of stacked milk cases up to 6 high (up to 220 lbs), pushing/pulling of milk cases on metal-framed, rolling delivery dollies (up to 700 lbs) in addition to using powered equipment.
  • Accurately identifying, selecting/picking inventory for loading, and staging based on customer load sheets. This process may involve picking corrugated and un-corrugated products (up to 50 lbs) from warehouse storage shelves, pushing/pulling of cases of products up to 6 cases high (up to 220 lbs) and other packaged and un-packaged products. Process also includes placing products on rolling, metal product delivery racks 5 feet high and moving the rack throughout the warehouse. Weights for each load will vary and load will progressively increase as the rack is filled. Final loaded weight of the rack could be up to 1000 lbs.
  • Pull empty and full milk cases stacked up to 6 high (up to 220 lbs) with repetition while performing functions associated with pulling stock in the dolly area or storage chest.
  • Manually remove products from the floor conveyor system, then package and/or stage in an efficient manner to maintain production flow requirements.
  • Safely operate various types of powered industrial trucks (PITs) to load and unload pallets of product from a trailer and/or transport throughout the Warehouse. Types of PITs used include forklifts, squeeze trucks, pallet jacks, and HI/LO forklift units.
  • Other duties to be performed as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent driving skills, hand/foot-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Good record keeping / clerical skills.
  • Good far-visual differentiation and depth perception.
  • Good basic math and reading skills.
  • Good oral communication and human relations skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience or training as a forklift operator.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is desirable.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting: Heavy lifting (over 50 pounds individually) - very infrequently Moderate lifting (25 to 50 pounds individually) - frequently. Light lifting (less than 25 pounds individually) - very frequently
  • Standing: Ability to stand for entire work shift (8 hours) with exception of break periods
  • Walking: Ability to walk for entire work shift (8 hours) with exception of break periods
  • Climbing: Ability to climb into and out of a forklift periodically (less than 6 times per hour)
  • Bending: Ability to bend and/or stoop frequently
  • Pushing: Ability to push rolling product carts with loads up to 100 pounds. Ability to push rolling dollies of products weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Pulling: Ability to drag stacks of products weighing up to 20 pounds with a dairy hook. Ability to pull rolling dollies of product weighing up to 70 pounds with a dairy hook
  • Other: Ability to work with arms outstretched to the front. Ability to work with arms overhead. Ability to climb a single flight of stairs
