Job Description :

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring regulatory compliant reporting, and all aspects of general ledger integrity and balance sheet substantiation
  • Developing a good understanding of the investment bank product set and systems and how these interface into the financial reporting process
  • Develop a sound understanding of US GAAP related to investment bank products and applying these to new product proposals
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of FINRA/FOCUS and NFA reporting, in respect of new regulatory returns set out by the regulatory institutions.
  • Contribute to continuous development of reporting and process change to comply with the reporting requirements of the Bank, the parent company, including reductions in reporting timelines
  • Involvement in the production of the general ledgers, including involvement in fixed assets, payroll, staff benefit, intercompany related journal entries, and management of year-end audit process and associated issues
  • Emerging with HR, IT, Gres and front office developing and monitoring procurement system
  • Monthly reconciliation of financial reporting to Head Office, and the control and analytical review of holding company and broker dealer results, and inter-company confirmations
  • Reconciliation and control of the staff expense system, including the review and control of staff submissions, payment processing and balance sheet disclosure.
  • Contribute to reporting preparation for the Executive Committee, and other recipients
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for reporting classification and disclosure, including improvements to the processes and procedures required

Requirements:

  • CPA qualification required
  • 1+ years of Public/Private Accounting experience with Banking or Broker Dealer industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS financial reporting, FINRA/FOCUS/NFA reporting, financial governance and control, external reporting and consolidation, head office reporting
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax

This Senior Accountant role requires someone to work 3 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role, and are eligible to work in the United States.
