Summary

Provides financial and statistical information to management, staff, and external customers in compliance with internal and external requirements by managing, monitoring, and accessing the organization's financial and other systems; analyzes and verifies the inputs and outputs to those systems. Maintains financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP and the Healthcare Audit Guide. Job Duties

  • Prepares intermediate journal vouchers and other source inputs into the general ledger and reconciles accordingly in Research and Gift Accounting.
  • Assists in the preparation of the monthly financial statement package including the financial statements, variance analysis, statistical, and financial ratio reporting.
  • Assists in the annual external financial audit and oversees the MHID program specific audit.
  • Reconciles general ledger inputs and balances to supporting documentation.
  • Develops, produces, and distributes monthly internal departmental and business unit financial statements and reports.
  • Ensures procedural documentation and polices are kept current.
  • Maintains and operates the financial and statistical computer systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5 years of experience as a staff accountant.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and an aptitude for automated financial systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
