We are seeking a Senior Accountant that will support our TMX US and TMX VettaFi groups which are based in the US. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the company Controller with direct access to CFO. The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in daily accounting responsibilities, including ownership of AP/AR, credit card management, and maintaining balance sheet schedules. Additionally, the senior accountant will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of corporate accounting and finance. Key Accountabilities:
  • Execution of monthly and quarterly close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform the activities of the accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, out of pocket expense reports
  • Conduct the activities of the accounts receivable function including billing, payment collection, aging and cash receipts
  • Maintain accruals and prepaids amortization schedules
  • Prepare, maintain and understand balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze Income Statement for drivers of monthly variances and provide explanation to senior management
  • Assist in Cashflow forecasting, as well as Bank Account reconciliation
  • Identify issues independently. Lead efforts to research issues, develop recommendations, resolve complex issues, and implement changes
  • Manage communication with Company's vendors and customer to bring resolution to any issues that may arise
  • Support Controller in gathering support for audit activities
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participate in special projects, system enhancements or ad hoc analyses as assigned
Must haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting related field
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Strong General Ledger Accounting experience including accruals and prepaids etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal acumen with the ability to interact positively with co-workers and management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills adhering to daily & monthly deadlines

  • Prior exposure to Workday preferred
