Title: Senior Accounting Manager Reports to: Controller Level: 10 - 12 Work Policy: Hybrid Position Overview: AMA Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join and help develop our growing Accounting Department. This role will report directly to the Controller and work with the CFO. Role Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled Senior Accounting Manager to lead and develop our current Accounting Department. Your daily responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensure that efficient policies and procedures and the proper internal controls are in place
  • Responsible for the month-end closing process and coordinated the closing of the division's accounting books
  • Report financial results in conformity with GAAP together with financial and accounting policies established by Corporate Accounting
  • Develop and maintain an effective Percentage of Completion forecast capability. Assess the adequacy of resource deployment commensurate with known project schedules and workload
  • Ensure adequate cost accumulation on each project
  • Prepares and analyzes month-end reporting (WIP report, over/under, gross margin, revenue recognition, and revenue projection, a shift of work and variances to plan, forecast adjustments, earnings fade/gain, preconstruction costs)
  • Partner with external auditors to support annual audit procedures. Ensure timely communication and provide accurate documentation, including Prepared by Client deliverables.
  • Job Costing, General Ledger, Contracts Management and Purchasing
  • Maintain KPI dashboards and steer monthly analytical processes to assess operational and financial performance, including labor efficiency and productivity, margin scalability, and cash conversion. Review expense projections and provide recommendations regarding cost reduction as well as opportunities to redeploy resources across projects and departments. Assess risks and opportunities spanning revenue growth, margin expansion, and cash conversion.
  • Supervise staff of 2-4 people
  • Support annual planning cycle, including preparation and consolidation of budget requests across businesses, analytics, management review, and Board presentations.
  • Lead various operational and financial analyses and prepared other ad hoc operational and financial reports as requested
Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, CPA Required Experience:
  • 8+ years' experience of accounting experience with public accounting experience
  • Big 4 Accounting experience is a plus
  • Properly prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • See challenges as opportunities to make improvements and develop a team
  • Be detail-oriented and deadline/results/accuracy driven
  • Have a control and risk-based mindset while executing daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks
  • 3 years of management experience in an accounting environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Experience with Deltek Vision and Sage is ideal. OneStream a plus
  • Well-developed financial analysis capabilities to support reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; ability to adapt to change

  • Base Salary Range of $130,000 - 150,000
