The role also involves performing a variety of engineering tasks, from initial planning and design to the creation of system specifications and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Design, develop, and build analog electronics for diverse applications.
- Research, design, and test hardware components, including amplifiers, LDOs, comparators, mixers, phase-locked loops, and radiation-hardened designs.
- Optimize system designs for low noise, high performance, and considerations such as size, weight, and power.
- Develop technical specifications for new products and oversee their production.
- Analyze hardware configurations and processing solutions, testing hardware for conformance to specifications.
- Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Independently drive solutions to complex engineering challenges, defining requirements and proposing solutions when customer specifications are unclear or incomplete.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing to advanced architecture and designs for complex analog electronics.
- Participate in business development and proposal activities.
- Identify and mitigate program or system-level technical risks.
- Manage multi-disciplinary tasks, collaborating with engineers across different teams and providing regular updates to project leadership and clients.
- Develop, document, and mentor less experienced engineers in best practices.
- Apply excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills to meet program goals.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree is preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in analog circuit design or a related discipline.
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas: low-noise electronics, analog-to-digital conversion, synchronous detection, analog and digital signal processing, phase-locked loops, high-speed and precision amplifiers, or discrete transistor-level design.
- Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting analog electronics.
- Experienced with schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Skilled in circuit simulation using tools such as Spice or other simulation software.
- Experience with system modeling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of applied mathematics and physics in engineering applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
